Nothing brings a home to life like architectural detail. If your home is one of these styles, or you just love
it and want to integrate it into your own home, here are a few tips to get you started.

Craftsman
Designed to blend with the landscape the style is low and broad with a lack of ornamentation, this gives it a natural and unaffected character. This style typically has a wide front porch framed with tapered columns. It is a clean simple design with detailed workmanship.

1) Getting to first base:
Baseboard molding runs around the base of a wall. Extra tall molding helps to ground the wall effortlessly. Add shoe molding* to the base for a detailed finish.

2) Knock knock... who's there?:
Doors are essential in the detailing of a room. Glazed or glass doors inside the home add style, light, and a sense of space to a house. A typical front door in this style is a plain plank door with glazed or glass panels on top.

3) You're not going anywhere:
Built-in furniture, a perfect combination of form and function. A bench built under a bay window makes a space architecturally complete. A built in bookcase creates grandeur in the room and clears up clutter.
